Arrived in Gettysburg Sunday afternoon to light rain. We toured the Jennie Wade house. She was the only civilian casualty of The Battle of Gettysburg. She was shot by a stray bullet in the kitchen of her sisters house.
They believe the bullet came from snipers in the Farnworth House down the road. Bullets in the brick of the house can still be seen.
The snipers where shooting from the attic on the left side of the house.
We did the National Parks guided tour of the Battlefield which is basically the whole town of Gettysburg. The tour was 2 hours long and traced the battle from July 1st to the 3rd of 1863.
It was cloudy and rainy but still a fun tour. Below is Devil’s Den and a canon.
